Old Station House

This project is for the refurbishment to the kitchen/ dining space in a lovely 19thC station building in West Edinburgh.

The building was previously extended with a poor quality infill to the rear of the building with uninsulated external walls, aluminium framed single-glazed windows and door and poorly insulated flat roof.

The spaces were also small and inefficient and lacked natural daylight.

By removing a couple of internal walls (non-original) the space is completely opened up, giving our clients a more generous and sociable space that improves the connection between their internal dining space and the outdoor terrace to give them a larger space for entertaining.

The project also involved replacing the poor quality roof and wall with insulated construction and new double glazed units to improve the thermal comfort internally.
