Client Location Category

Barony St Johns is Category B listed Church with special historic interest due its Ecclesiastical use.

The building is rectangular in plan with gables to east and west and elaborate, projecting eastern tower and spire. It was originally designed by Black and Salmon, Architects (Glasgow) 1844 in the Gothic architectural style.

Externally the roof is in poor repair which has led to water ingress and failure of internal plaster finishes. The stonework is also significantly weathered, a combination of the costal location and failure of roof detailing.
